A reassurance from Eden Valley Holiday Park
SUMMER 2024
Despite a very wet first 6 months of this year the park is looking fabulous. We became an adult only Touring park in April this year and it has so far been exceptionally busy with lots of people enjoying the peace, quiet and tranquillity. Walking around the park is so much different now, happy customers, no bikes and scooters to be aware of etc. Don’t get me wrong the past 17 years as a family park have been amazing and we have loved every minute (well almost!) but now we can enjoy it just a little bit more! All of the team apparently love it too!
The games room now operates as a tourist information room but you can still challenge your family and friends to a game of pool or table tennis, even have a game of table football. There are books to swap or sit and while away an hour or so reading the latest blockbuster novel.
We still have availability on most dates for tourers, tents and motorhomes but don’t forget we have 3 holiday Lodges for hire if you would prefer a bit more luxury and comfort.
Hope to see you very soon. x
SUMMER 2022
The Holiday Park is now fully operational with exception to the childrens play area which is awaiting repair from the manufacturers, but we do have a brand new table tennis table to keep both Children and adults amused. (bats are available for a small deposit from reception)
We have recently enjoyed the Queens Platinum Jubilee and had a lovely afternoon picnic with a good old fashioned ‘sing song’.
The weather has been favorable but as with typical British Weather the odd gale and cornish mizzle is mixed in, makes a good talking point though!
As usual we are all very busy keeping the park looking lovely for all our lovely guests. We have a new team of cleaners, Jim and Lesley who are doing a wonderful job. Carol and Jeff, our cleaners that have been with us for 10 years, have decided to hang up there marigolds and just enjoy holidaying with us instead.
Eden Valley is a family site and families are certainly welcome here as well as couples, young and old. Our family is becoming smaller, our daughter and her partner now own Tregarthen Cottages at Nanstallon and our youngest son Nathan owns Pine Green Holiday Park, Doublebois, near Liskeard. Ryan still lives here at Eden Valley but has just become a partner, so certainly keeping the holiday vibe in the family.
We still have availability on all dates for tourers, tents and motorhomes but don’t forget we have 3 holiday Lodges for hire if you would prefer a bit more luxury and comfort.
We look forward to seeing you soon!
SUMMER 2021
Well the vaccine rollout is speeding ahead. We are open now with all but the games room which we have decided to keep closed for this season. We unfortunately do not have the staff to keep it covid safe! So far everyone is being exceptionally careful, maintaining social distancing, wearing masks when in the communal areas and using the various sanitiser stations that are all around our park. We are keeping extremely busy and loving having lots of friendly people visiting. Its so nice seeing people enjoy themselves. If you wish to come and visit please give us a call we still have a few spaces left. We are on Pitch-up but if it says we are full sometimes with a quick phone call we may be able to fit you in.
Looking forward to seeing you soon!
Welcome to 2021!
We hope you are all well and keeping safe. Covid-19 may still be dominating our lives, but we are hoping that with the Vaccines being rolled out life can slowly come back to as near ‘normal’ as possible. We have no idea as yet whether we will be able to open the site in March and April but rest assured we will be ready to welcome you back whenever this awful virus allows us. We are taking bookings but of course, as last year, we will also be flexible and change bookings, hold deposits etc.
The next couple of months we will be preparing the site ready for all our lovely guests to come back and enjoy the peace and tranquillity that is Eden Valley. Hope to see you very soon…..
GREAT NEWS!! (2020)
The government have said we can now open our holiday park on Saturday 4th July. However, we will only be accepting tourers and motor-homes with their own facilities. We will not be accepting tents until further notice as unfortunately, we have made the decision to keep the toilet/shower facilities closed and following government guidelines, communal indoor facilities, (Laundry, games room, washing-up areas etc) will be closed until we can ensure the safety of our owners, staff and ourselves.
This will obviously be kept under review until further notice.
We have 2 Elsan disposal points which have hand sanitiser available for your use. Water taps are in use at various areas and the taps will be sanitised at regular times, but hand sanitiser is available for your use.
All bookings can be moved, and we will hold deposits until 2021 (Pitch-up bookings can also be moved to next year).
Reception:
On arrival please park your car at the bottom of the park and walk up to reception.
Only one person will be allowed to enter reception, to book in, at any time and encouraged to use the hand sanitiser upon entry. We have a Perspex screen at the desk which will be sanitised after each person has left. Any payments can be made via Bacs or at reception using cash/cheque or card, the card machine will be sanitised after each use.
We will not be selling any groceries/drinks, ice-cream etc until further notice.
Hand sanitiser is available at bin areas, play park, reception and elsan points, but we ask you to practice Social distancing, hand washing/sanitising and covering coughs and sneezes -which remain the most important measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Please DO NOT come to the park if you have coronavirus (COVID-19) symptoms (most common symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) are recent onset of a new continuous cough or a high temperature or a loss of, or change in, normal sense of taste or smell)
If you develop these symptoms whilst staying on the park, however mild then you should immediately self-isolate, ring NHS 111 for advice and guidance. You should arrange a test by visiting NHS.UK or contact 119 via telephone if you do not have internet access.
You must inform us by ringing reception 01208 872277. For a medical emergency dial 999
We are really looking forward to welcoming you, but here are just a few points we would like to remind you of;
- Following government guidelines everyone must inform us of their name/address etc. This will be done when booking in at reception. The details will be securely stored for 21 days following government guidelines
- Children must be supervised especially whilst using the play area and encouraged to sanitise hands at regular intervals.
- Please remember social distancing of 2 meters from other guests and staff, (do not be offended if we ask you to step back if we feel you are too close!)
- Please follow the guidance above.
- Dispose of your rubbish sensibly in the designated bin areas.
- Local relationships are important to us all and some are understandably apprehensive about potential impacts of returning visitors; they will need reassurance demonstrated by your thoughtfulness so Please consider the local community when off site ie social distance, shopping etiquette (May be a good idea to bring your own shopping essentials). We will not be selling any groceries, drinks or ice-cream until further notice.
- Visitors of guests are NOT allowed onto the park at present (this may change as time goes by.)
- No social gatherings of more than 6 people.
We look forward to seeing you very soon. In the meantime if you need any information or wish to change an existing booking please email or telephone 01208 872277
April 2020
We hope you are all keeping well. These are troubling times, but we want to reassure you about life here at Eden Valley Holiday Park.
We are sure, like everyone else during this national emergency, you are finding a lot more questions than answers. So, we will try to go a little way to putting
your mind at ease about one thing at least- How is Eden Valley Holiday Park?
None of us would have wished to find ourselves in this predicament and Covid-19 is blighting all of our lives and affecting so many of us. Meanwhile we are looking after the park to making sure you (and we) can be up and running just as soon as this crisis is over and we can return to some sort of normality. We are all looking forward to having you back with us as soon as it is deemed safe to do so.
The security of our park one of our first priorities. The barriers to the park will remain firmly closed during our period of closure.
We are continuing to carry out essential maintenance work around the park, to make sure we’ll be ready for when you return! The main toilet block has been undergoing refurbishment, unfortunately due to the Corona Virus, work has been slowed but we will try our hardest to finish as soon as we can get supplies. Dennis, Darren and Ryan have been very busy checking the whole site several times a day as well as cutting grass, hedges and are at the moment clearing lots of areas of overgrowth! Nathan has been watering plants left in pots and helping with LOTS of weeding. Simon, our full time employee is taking a well-earned fully paid break and our two excellent wardens are awaiting their return to the fold.
Amid all the gloom, it’s been wonderful to see how Eden Valley Holiday Park has literally blossomed during the recent spell of good weather. We have seen, and heard, an abundance of wildlife. From the woodpecker constantly pecking away (one day he will finally decide to make one of the holes his new home!) to many flowers bursting into bloom.
We have re-instated our Facebook page (we were getting a few abusive emails so took it down) and we will endeavour to post pictures on it over the coming weeks. For all of our holiday home and seasonal touring caravans, rest assured they are being looked after and are awaiting the return of their owners.
If you have any further concerns please contact us by phone or email.
The only thing missing here is you, but let’s hope it won’t be too long now!
With our best wishes and kind regards
Darren, Ginny, Carol, Dennis, Ryan and Nathan.
We are now well into our 2019 season and the weather has been very kind to us so far. We look forward to another bumper year here at Eden Valley. We have won several awards for last season: The David Bellamy Gold accolade for conservation and a special commendation for our hedgehog hotels, we have been voted as one of the Top 100 Parks in the UK again ( our 9th year!!) as well as being awarded the Winner of Pitch-up’s reviews with a score of 9.8 out of 10!! We have a new pond being erected in the static holiday area, so please feel free to have a wander around our park and delight in the tranquil surroundings. We look forward to seeing you soon.
The 2018 season was one of the best seasons we have had regarding the weather. What a lovely warm summer we had!
We have been voted one of the Top 100 parks in the UK by Practical Caravan readers!!!
Here’s what they had to say…
“This is the eighth year in a row that Eden Valley Holiday Park has appeared in our Top 100 Sites Guide, and the park – close to Lostwithiel and the pretty town of Fowey – seems to be getting better every year. There’s no bar or restaurant here; instead, you’ll simply find a quiet base where you can really get away from it all. There’s plenty to do on-site: visitors can make use of the indoor games room, and there’s a fantastic children’s adventure playground. Those in a tourer or tent will be pitched in one of several small paddock areas; alternatively, you can hire an attractive wooden lodge and stay in a real home-from-home!”
Forest Glade lodges are available to hire from 7th March and the touring and camping site opens on 1st April 2019. We look forward to welcoming back returning guests and meeting new ones. See you soon!
